Albuquerque Genetec + Peregrine Technologies
Albuquerque Police Department has a pretty expansive surveillance system in place. APD is running what’s called a Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) that currently gives them access to 19,000 “camera views”, according to Deputy Commander Rob Drager, during Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn’s D7 Councilor Connect on Sept. 4th, 2026.
“The primary purpose of RTCC was to give field officers and detectives instant information to help identify patterns and stop emerging crime.”

APD currently contracted with Genetec, specifically their ALPRs. As of now, there are currently 800 Genetec specific cameras in the ABQ metro area, with 250 that are specifically Genetec’s Cloudrunner™ ALPRs.
Genetec’s Cloudrunner™ is a cloud-based ALPR investigative platform that goes beyond just license plates. It captures vehicle make, model, and behavior analytics using “machine learning.”
It feeds directly into Genetec Clearance™ for evidence sharing with “authorized stakeholders,” which includes federal partners and data brokers.
Crucially, Genetec claims service in the U.S., Canada, Australia, & New Zealand… meaning that data flows thru a Canadian company’s (Genetec) cloud, internationally.
Peregrine Integration is an AI-powered “real-time” decision and operations management platform that builds profiles of subjects before officers arrive on scene.
Pulling data from prior arrests, courts cases, CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) data, police reports, LPR data and “other databases” inot a single risk assessment. APD’s own Deputy Chief JJ Greigo confirmed it cut information retrieval from 3 min and 40 sec, to mere seconds.
Peregrine interates thousands of data sources and is used by 250+ departments across 22 states, creating an actual national data sharing network.
According to Peregrine.io Customer Stories on APD, there are 20+ data sources unified in Peregrine (Peregrine case study 2025). APD vaguely covered this in their D7 Councilor Connect presentation.
Peregrine builds profiles: prior arrests, court cases, CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch), government service contacts… CEO Nick Noone confirmed this on record, saying “any history of individuals…who have interacted with any government service providers.”
